Started out literally that, as dresses for Bella Goth, who I felt just didn't
live up to her last (married, admittedly) name. However, it turned out that even
with the proper attire she wasn't nearly Gothy enough; so with a little
messing about in IffSnooper (which translated in her world into a couple months
of staying indoors, judicious application of 1, some Manic Panic Raven Black
hair dye, 2, some dark lipstick and 3, some thick black eyeliner), Bella got
a makeover to pale. Hence the somewhat discombobulated selection for some of
these skins of only medium or pale skin tone.
A lot of these dresses were inspired by Luella Bartley's fall 2008 collection,
though none of them are actually copies of her designs. What I did borrow, however,
was her witchy color scheme of deep pumpkin orange, electric midnight blue-black
and weird thick ash-grey.
Note about pale skins: though they are lumped in with the regular light skins,
they use additional pale hands and a pale nude as well; this is achieved by giving
the hands and nude the same name (after the underscore) as the body texture.
What this means is that bodies using different meshes can actually use the same
set of hands, since the mesh number is part of the entire name and the game will
read them as different. What that means is that I've tried to keep the
variety of names to a minimum so as to keep the number of differently named but
otherwise identical hand sets down. In practical terms that means that when you
download a bunch of these pale zips, unzip them and throw everything into the
game's skins folder, some of the hands and nudes will be duplicates and want
to overwrite each other. Let them and don't worry about it. It should all work
fine and save a bit of space in your skins folder.
Another note, and y'all are going to hate me for this: I tweaked the
pale skin tone a bit. I know, I know, it was standardized years ago so that everyone's
pale skins would work with everyone else's, and I do apologize to whoever chose
the skin tone in the beginning, but I just could not stand the death-warmed-over
look and so I made it a little warmer, a little more natural. I wanted something,
I don't know, healthy looking. Rosy, even, if still pale. So, I'm
afraid, my pale skins are going to be just a little bit different from everyone
else's. Though it is not, really, all that different, and I hope it shall not
be too egregious.
One last note, about pale buyables: you can't set the hands and nude of a buyable,
so they will remain the ones that go with the 'normal' clothing, whatever that
is set at.
Bella's new pale Gothy head is found here.

Policy: Objects and skins by Thalia at
Magnolia Sims. Do what you like with my objects and skins: clone, recolor, share,
make different versions of skins for different skin tones and body shapes, whatever.
Credit would be good, and if you could link I'd appreciate it; but you don't
have to. Just don't put anything of mine (altered or unaltered) on a pay site,
and don't take credit for something you didn't make. Meshes are not mine, as
I can't make them myself; if you want to use them you'll have to refer to the
original maker's policy, which I've generally included in the zip. Though if
I'm using them, they were good to use when I checked.
