 
Loki is the Norse God of Trickery and Fire. As fire can be both very helpful or very dangerous depending on the amount of attention paid it, Loki is naturally a very devious trickster. He delights in bringing chaos to situations that have become stable or boring, but his schemes invariably backfire on him. Well, they do at first, anyway; for Loki has a remarkable ability to come away from the whole thing bearing unexpectedly excellent results. Getting there, though, well now, that's a different story!
